Modern electronic power apparatus such as drives and uninterruptable power supplies produce nonlinear current which in turn introduces line pollution into networks in the form of harmonics. When these harmonics interacts with power fator correction capacitors and the inductance of the feeder transformer, a resonance phenomenon occurs. The resonance phenomenon causes excessive voltage and current that is detrmental to the power factor capacitors.
Mikro's Antiresonance Reactor detunes the circuit from forming the resonance phenomenon while still providing power factor correction.
